Here is the press release for the Finale of Mind’s Eye, of course we are going, to see this on the big screen is going to be epic! Screen sized DOLGRATH and screen sized John Callum woot!

MIND’S EYE Ends Season at Galaxy Cinemas

GUELPH, ON, April 27th, 2011 – Lynnvander Productions and Synn Studios is proud to present the world premiere advanced screening of the first season finale of MIND’S EYE. The entire first season will be screened leading up to the 24th and final episode of MIND’S EYE’S first season, effectually making it a feature-length movie.

The screening will take place at 7:30 pm on Thursday May 5th at the Galaxy Cinemas Guelph. Most of the series’ cast and crew will be in attendance, including the child actors who play the young heroes in the webseries, and series’ creators Thomas M. Gofton and Tom Roper-Brown. Tickets are available on the MIND’S EYE website at http://www.mindseyeseries.com/ for $10.50 each. Seating is limited, so those planning to attend are advised to buy their tickets in advanced.

MIND’S EYE premiered last fall on November 26th for its first season, 24-episode run. In that time, the Guelph-produced series has developed a small but vocal following and has been picked up by webseries aggregates like Koldkast and Blip.tv. It has also become an award-winning series, garnering an Indie Intertube Award for “Best Show to Recommend to Your Mother,” and was one of only six Canadian-made webseries to be screened at the LA Webfest, where it walked away with three awards for Outstanding Theme Music, Score, and Sci-Fi/Fantasy series. And just this past March, MIND’S EYE was nominated for four Constellation Awards including Best Actor, Best Actress and Outstanding Canadian Contribution to Science Fiction Film or Television.

After the season finale is launched online on Friday May 6th, the minds behind MIND’S EYE will embark on a summer long tour of the series at comic and fan conventions from one end of North America to another, including stops in Calgary, Victoria, Chicago, Atlanta, New York, Winnipeg, Austin and Montreal. Production on season two of the series may begin as early as Winter 2012.

Synopsis: MIND’S EYE follows the adventures of a young boy named Illia, and his school friends Mark, Elyssa, Patrick, Nadia, Darius and Koji. Little does Illia know, but his friends are actually magical beings called Dreamweavers. Centuries old, and armed with an incredible array of powers, The Dreamweavers protect Illia, who is really a prophesized Chosen One, from the forces of evil that want to exploit him, especially the evil Dolgrath. MIND’S EYE was shot on location in the City of Guelph through Guelph-based Synn Studios and Lynnvander Productions.

The production quality and the make up, the effects, the cast and crew, all talented and lovely people.

If you have not watched this series yet, after i have been going on about it for FOREVER, then i might have to punch you, or maybe just boot you out of the club.

1.  AUTHOR GUEST ANNOUNCEMENT FOR POLARIS 25 - CHARLAINE HARRIS

Polaris 25 is proud to announce that Charlaine Harris will be
appearing as our second Author Guest of Honour!

Charlaine Harris is on the New York Times’ Best Sellers list for her
Sookie Stackhouse urban fantasy series, about a telepathic waitress
who works in the fictional Northern Louisiana town of Bon Temps. The
first book in the series, Dead Until Dark, won the Anthony Award for
Best Paperback Mystery in 2001. Each book follows Sookie through her
adventures involving vampires, werewolves, and other supernatural
creatures. The series, which now numbers eleven titles, has been
released worldwide.

It proved to be so popular that Alan Ball, creator of Six Feet Under,
developed a television series based upon the books for HBO. The
series, True Blood, was an instant success and is now filming its
fourth season.

In addition to a Q&A session, Charlaine will be doing a reading, a
signing, and will be speaking on panels.

6.  THE CONSTELLATION AWARDS WANTS YOU - TO JOIN OUR TEAM!

The Constellation Awards team is still looking for new team members to
help us plan and run our event this year. Here are some of the
positions where we could use YOUR enthusiasm and hard work. Note that
team members can take on multiple roles, if more than one of these
positions are of interest. Team members will be expected to attend our
committee meetings (currently held one Saturday afternoon per month in
the Woodbine & Steeles area of Toronto) whenever possible.

1) Marketing Team Member

The Constellation Awards needs a team member to take on some of the
legwork to help market and promote our event. This will include
helping to coordinate advertising swaps, promo tables, etc., as well
as working with our Sponsorship and Graphics teams to put together and
distribute material to help promote the awards. Some Desktop
Publishing skills (flyers, brochures, etc.) would be helpful, but are
not essential.

2) Media Liaison

The Constellation Awards team also has a role open for a media liaison
to help coordinate the media who attend our event. Previous experience
in working with the media would be helpful, but is not mandatory for
this role.

All applicants must understand that not everyone is suitable for all
positions. While experience is not necessarily required, only people
who can demonstrate the required skills will be considered for any of
the roles. Because the Awards Team is small, anybody taking on a
pre-ceremonies role may also be expected to help out during the actual
awards ceremonies. Please feel free to contact us if you have any
questions, or if you’re ready to dive in and get involved! Just email
constellations@tcon.ca and let us know why you think you’d be a good
addition to our team. We look forward to hearing from you!
